Parramatta’s stunning revamp into one of Sydney’s leading cities is set to continue, with a $225 million mixed-use project to refurbish the neglected former Auto Alley in Church Street given the go-ahead, the SMH reports.

The project is part of an $876 million South Quarter development by the Dyldam group, adding to the already $6 billion-plus makeover of the Parramatta CBD. The development will be the amalgamation of three separate sites – 57, 63 and 83 Church Street – and is predicted to add a new “southern gateway” to Parramatta. The renovations will likely coincidence with the widening of Church Street, which will showcase new cycle lanes and planted trees.
